Ouidad Curl Recovery Line for Dry & Damaged Textures

If you ask me, I think Ouidad products are some of the best out there for curls and waves. They have been in my rotation of products probably longer than any other curly hair brand ( After visiting the flagship salon in NYC for a great cut a few weeks ago, I have been on a Ouidad kick.

The particular line was developed for dry, damaged textures. It contains a special repair complex with ingredients such as Mafura Butter and Kalahari Melon Seed Oil which are both nutrient-rich. I also like that using this line helps not only to repair the hair, but also help prevent future damage because believe me when I say right now my hair is damaged enough.

  • Ultra-Nourishing Cleansing Oil
  • Whipped Curls Daily Conditioner & Styling Primer
  • Melt Down Extreme Mask
  • Curl Defining Styling Souffle

Original Moxie Hair Products Review!

Original Moxie is a cruelty free line of hair care products for all different types of hair. The line was developed by Rachel Blistein, a beautiful curly girl who decided to create her own line of products out of frustration not finding products that worked well for her hair. The brand's website says that "Rachel personally crafts each product, from customizing herbal infusions, to sourcing pure, natural ingredients and fine-tuning Moxie's iconic essential oil fragrances." All of the products are  made to nourish hair from the inside out and labeled with Original Moxie's 3-D Diagnostic System that helps you identify what products work best based on your hair's own density, curl pattern and dryness level.

Original Moxie is another one of my favorite hair care brands. A few weeks ago I wrote a detailed review on some of their products for NaturallyCurly.com!  CLICK HERE to read it!!

  • Get Clean No Foam Shampoo
  • Intense Quench Deep Conditioner

April 2015 Sephora VIB Rouge Sale Haul

It was that rare time of year Sephora had their 15% off sale for VIB Rouge members. I had to indulge a little bit, and I'd like to believe I didn't go completely overboard this time. Truthfully, there wasn't too much I *needed* and I also did an ULTA Prestige 20% off haul which I will post about soon. Why must they take place at the same time!? This was done in three orders so I got some extra samples! Have a look at what I bought after the break!

I Tried The Inversion Method for Hair Growth. Here's What Happened.

Hair grows approximately 1/2 an inch a month. If you are trying to grow your hair halfway down your back, this certainly does not sound like a lot of length. Factor in necessary trims and it may feel like your hair is taking forever to gain some length. Eating well, taking hair supplements, and giving yourself scalp massages a couple times a week with oils may help to increase the growth a bit. The Inversion Method, however, is supposed to significantly help with hair growth. This method is not scientifically proven but of course, I had to give it a try.

VERB Hair Products Review #1: from my boyfriend & I

A few weeks ago I received an awesome bag of VERB hair products! You can find these products at Ricky’s NYC in store and online, one of my favorite places to shop for beauty! I was super excited to try this line, they products sound incredible. They are salon quality products at an affordable price point! ($14 each) I will have my own review of all these products soon, but in the meantime my boyfriend, Tommie, has been using some of them a few weeks on his amazing hair. So this blog post will be Tommie’s review (that I helped word better for the blog! LOL) on some VERB products along with my input on the products I tried so far. What is interesting is that these products are meant to work on all different types of hair and Tommie’s hair is more fine, straight and gets greasy plus gets weighed down really easy. He also looks to add volume and body to his hair so it’s pretty much opposite of mine.

Doll10 Beauty Color Correcting (CC) & Finishing Touch Powders Review

The other day I hit pan on my Doll10 CC Powder! Being that I actually hit pan on a powder (a rare occasion for me) I felt it warranted a review of this product and another great product by the brand. Doll10 Beauty (formerly Dalton Cosmetics) is one of my very favorite cosmetic brands, I really haven't tried a product by them I did not love.

My April box is a bit of a disappointment. I do like the products they selected for me, but the sample sizes this month overall are so pathetically small. I had the same issue with my Allure Sample Society Box this month (read about that here)

Hair of the Day 4/11/15 Clip in Extensions for a Wedding

I am still adjusting to the short hair. Truth be told, I miss my long mermaid locks like CRAZY and can't wait for my hair to grow, grow, grow! I still love the Ouidad cut, but I will love it more when I have the length I desire. Thank God for clip in extensions. It's funny, my boyfriend loves my hair shorter and didn't want me to even wear the extensions!

How to Have Frizz Free Rainy Days

Oh spring. Warm weather, sunshine and...showers. Lots of spring showers and rain can be a curly wavy girl's nightmare! How many times has your hair looked nice and once you left the house the wear caused frizz, unwanted expansion and all other kind of dilemmas? On top of rain, when summer approaches, so will the humidity. The good news is there is a way that your hair can prevail over the wet and humid seasons.

It Cosmetics CC+ Cream Bronzer Review

A couple of years ago, I went to an It Cosmetics event at Ulta (side note: if you ever have the chance to go to one of these, totally go because they are so fun!) I remember talking to the It staff and casually mention how great a cream bronzer would be from them! Flash forward to now and it looks like my product wish came true! Exclusively at Ulta, It Cosmetics released the limited edition CC+ Your Skin But Butter Bronzer! It is a color correcting bronzer full coverage cream and anti-aging hydrating serum with SPF 50+ UVA/UVB Broad Spectrum sunscreen. As a girl on the naturally pale side who won't go in the sun without SPF, I couldn't wait to try this out.
