Tweak-d 2XL Cleansing Cream + 2 "Day 1 Hair of the Days"

My apologies again for the lack of blog posts! So much has been happening, May has not been great. I'll spare you guys the details but if you follow me on snapchat you may have an idea of some of it. Anyway, back to blogging and such now. Today's blog I am talking about the Tweak-d 2XL FIber Lift Daily Foaming Thickening Cleansing Cream which I have been using now a few weeks, mixed with the other Tweak-ds. I also have 2 "Hair of the Days" and will talk about a product I used up, and other stuff! So let's dive in...

I recently reviewed the new Tweak-d Peaches and Fresh Cream Formula and that post is here if you missed it. I've still been using, loving and incorporating it but I also wanted to try the new Cleansing Cream that also just debuted on HSN not too long ago!

Here is what Tweak-d says about the 2XL Fiber Lift Daily Foaming Thickening Cleansing Cream:
    • A lightweight, DAILY thickening conditioning cleansing cream that helps to add fullness and volume as it gently whisks away product build-up and impurities
    • Body-building cleanser is infused with a unique micro-fiber technology that helps to lift strands, leaving hair looking and feeling fuller than ever.
    • Innovative multi-tasking cream that combines shampoo, conditioner, detangler and shine enhancer all in one
    • PHYTO4FOAM brings together an active synergy between four plants originating from four different parts of the globe and traditionally used for personal hygiene, Shikakai, Desert Date, Gypsophila, and Kumerahou extracts.
    • These plants are rich in saponins (Nature’s suds), a family of surfactants that serve as natural cleansers
    • Enhanced with Quillaja Saponaria Bark Extract, also known as the soap bark tree, native to Chile for added cleansing power
    • A “good for you cleansing lather” to gently cleanse and condition the hair weightlessly
    • Builds better body and thickness while cleansing and conditioning
    • Micro-fiber technology adds a web of micro-fibers to hair to create the appearance of thicker, fuller hair
    • Plumps and lifts individual strands
    • Helps enrich and infuse volume and fullness to the hair strand
    • Maximizes the look of your hair's body and substance
    • Helps protect hair against heat damage and preserves hair color
    • Optimizes hair's strength, density and elasticity
    • Lightly moisturizes each strand for denser-looking hair
    • Provides the perfect balance of softness and shine without weight
    • Created for fine, thinning, limp, or flyaway hair
    • Formulated without parabens, sulfates, mineral oil or synthetic dye
Unlike all the other Tweak-d cleansing formulas I use where you apply it on dry hair first, this one you apply both times on wet hair. When I read the description, I wasn't sure it was going to work for my hair in all honesty because I don't consider my mane to be limp or flyaway and if anything I try to do the exact opposite of building body or getting any sort of volume. But much to my delight, the Cleansing Cream worked well for me!

Each time I use this, whether I use it as my "shampoo", rinsing and then putting more in with conditioner or if I use it to cleanse and follow up with a masque or deep treatment or even a different Tweak-d formula, I've noticed this Cleansing Cream really helps to define my waves!! I wasn't expecting that to happen, but it was such a nice surprise! I'm assuming it does so since it really is lightweight.

Aside from defining my waves, my hair left clean, hydrated and soft using this Cleansing Cream. The bottle does say there is no need to follow up with a separate conditioner unless you have dry or damaged ends. Because my ends are dry, damaged and still have icky bleach in them, I did always add the Tweak-d Nourishing Self Cleansing Treatment in just to those parts for the extra moisture.

This Cleansing Cream does lather a little bit for being sulfate free. The best way to achieve the lather is to emulsify it between your hands before applying it to the scalp.I am also IN LOVE with the scent!! The best way I can describe the smell is "exotically sweet" It has the gourmandness to it but it is also a little Woodsy and there's a bit of a kick that I just can't pinpoint.

*Both Hair of the Days I applied my styling products into wet hair section by section raking them through and shaking at the end (the Ouidad "Rake & Shake Technique") and I clipped the hairline pieces back in Ricky's NYC Creaseless clips and let them air dry.

      1st Hair of the Day
      (from 5/19/16)
      Products Used:
      "Shampoo": Tweak-d 2XL Cleansing Cream
"Conditioner: Tweak-d 2XL Cleansing Cream mixed with Tweak-d Ulta Nourish Cleansing Cream on ends only
Stylers: Madam CJ Walker Beauty Curl Creme, SheaMoisture High Porosity Elixir

I actually used up all of that Madam CJ Walker Beauty Curl Creme with this wash. It was a really nice styler that moisturized my hair so well I was able to skip leave in and it did define my curls, but I did notice continued use at times it left my hair feeling a tad waxy. At this point I'm not 100% sure I'd repurchase since there are other stylers i really like that don't do that. But it performed so well, we will see.

These pictures were taken in a park since it was gorgeous out, The sun kept going behind clouds so lighting isn't consistent. I REALLY like the definition my waves had this day.

Can't wait for all the bleach to grow out! It looks like I could use another trim again. grrrr

      2nd Hair of The Day
      (from 5/21/16)

      Products Used:
Pre Shampoo Treatment: Tweak-d Peaches & Fresh Cream Self Cleansing Hair Treatment

      "Shampoo": Tweak-d 2XL Cleansing Cream
"Conditioner: Tweak-d 2XL Cleansing Cream mixed with Raw Curls Wavy Swavy Conditioner
Stylers: Ouidad Curl Recovery Curl Souffle, SheaMoisture High Porosity Elixir

I usually would wait another day or so between washing again, but this was on a Saturday where we went out that night and I wanted my hair to look as fresh and defined as possible. Once my hair was completely air dried (like right before we went out) I added in some DevaCurl Set Up & Above Styling Paste and DevaCurl Shine Spray. The Set Up & Above I used a little on my ends so they didn't look as fuzzy and the shine spray I used all over for extra shine.

I forgot just how much I love the Ouidad Curl Recovery Styling Souffle! Once I ran out of the MCJW Curl Creme, I liked how I didn't need a leave in with it and remembered I also didn't need a leave in with this one so I pulled it from my Product Junkie Stash. Although some washes I did leave a little Raw Curls Wavy Swavy Conditioner on just the ends. I'm actually actively working on using up a lot of my stash (it's so ridiculous I won't even publicly post a picture of it! haha) so you may find some old favorites resurface in upcoming posts. I also still have plenty of products in my stash I bought but have not reviewed yet, so more new reviews are coming soon!

If you are a big visual person like me, here are most of the products I mentioned in this post:
