IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness Cream and Powder Fall '17

Yes I am still reviewing It Cosmetics Fall 2017 newness! I've really been enjoying playing with everything and with complexion products, I like to space them out a little bit from each other and try them for at least a few days before giving my thoughts to be sure I can form a good, true opinion. Today I am talking about the Bye Bye Redness Correcting Cream and Bye Bye Redness Erasing Correcting Powder! Read on for more.

Before reviewing these, I wanted to let you know It Cosmetics also released a new Bye Bye Redness Moisturizer, too. Since I use skincare products a bit longer before reviewing (ideally a month) and like to really single out one at a time to see my skin's reaction, my review of the moisturizer will be up in a few more weeks.

I sometimes have a little redness on my cheeks and chin, but I know many out there have far worse redness on their complexions. Someone close to me who prefers not to be mentioned, has a lot more redness and has been swearing by this cream as her foundation.

Them: "Say “bye bye” to redness and hello to your most flawless complexion in just one step! Developed with plastic surgeons, Bye Bye Redness™ is your color-infused skincare that starts its life as a hydrating, skin-calming cream and cancels redness from view—all while delivering long-wearing, color-correcting full coverage. Rich in anti-aging peptides, colloidal oatmeal, hydrolyzed collagen, aloe and avocado, it helps camouflage any red-toned skin discolorations including rosacea, broken capillaries, blemishes, skin irritations, sun damage, scars, age spots and more. This soothing, cutting-edge, super-blendable, hydrating cream truly provides perfect coverage that won’t crease or crack, and makes your skin appear supple, even and youthfully radiant!"

Me: This product itself is not new, but the brand released two more shades.  I apologize I do not have the original on hand to swatch and compare. This cream does a great job at evening out my skin tone and covering redness, but it is not a favorite IT product of mine. For whatever reason, on my skin I do find it time consuming and harder to blend than IT's other foundations and concealers. I also am sad to say I think this formula sometimes settles into my pores. This just goes to show you, even with our favorite brands, not every since product will work for every single face. As I mentioned earlier, I do know several people who love this stuff!

In the pictures below I just have on Bye Bye Redness Cream in Porcelain with no additional concealer, foundation or powder.

Please note that I actually pinched my cheeks a little to get them to temporarily appear more red for the sake of showing the coverage of this product.

Them: "Say “bye bye” to the look of redness and hello to the appearance of your most flawless, even-toned complexion with Bye Bye Redness™ Powder! Developed with plastic surgeons, this talc-free powder is ideal for even the most sensitive skin and delivers buildable, tone-correcting full coverage that won’t settle into lines or pores—and instantly reduces the look of redness, rosacea, discoloration and any imperfections. Infused with anti-aging colloidal oatmeal, aloe, cucumber, chamomile, avocado, chrysin, turmeric, collagen and peptides, it’s truly your skin-soothing essential for airbrushing away the look of redness!"

Me: I really have not met an IT powder formula I have no completely loved, and we can add this one to this list. You can wear it by itself and get pretty medium to fullish coverage, but I like to use it to help set my foundation. It does a really nice job at evening out my skintone while mattifying my super shine prone skin. Bye Bye Pores Powder mattifies me a little more, but this comes close. I also like that it adds a little extra coverage as it fights shine. This powder doesn't build up as full coverage as Celebration Foundation Powder, but it comes close. I don't have issues with it settling into my pores or lines and it wears all day. I think this is a nice addition to IT's powders, especially if you do have a lot of redness and/or sensitive skin since a lot of the ingredients inside are so soothing.

For my before and afters with the Bye Bye Redness Powder, I have it worn over a very favorite product of mine, IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream to show how it adds coverage and shine. While CC+ cream is a holy grail product of mine, the finish is quite dewy for my shine prone skin (::insert my continued plea to the IT team to make a matter version here::)

I also decided to take befores and afters using flash on my face, as well as the usual no flash near natural light just to show the shine difference.

I have on the IT CC+ Cream in a mix of Fair and Light, using more light than fair,  the Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer in Medium (it runs so light), Je Ne Sais Quoi Bye Bye Pores Blush and a cream contour stick (hey IT- why don't you guys make one of those? that would be so cool)

I am using the powder in LIGHT BEIGE for these pictures. This one and porcelain beige both work well for my skin tone while netural beige is too dark for me.

Yes, the bye bye redness powder virtually made my blush disappear in these pictures. I can still see it lighter in person, but the camera didn't pick it up. That just goes to show how this powder really does cover discoloration!

In the pictures, additionally I am wearing the following other IT Cosmetics products:
  • SuperHero Mascara
  • Pretty In Nudes Eyeshadow Trio (the pink shade on the lid)
  • Brow Power Pencil Original
  • Je Ne Sais Quoi Lip Treatment in Rose

Overall, I love the new Bye Bye Redness powder but sadly have to pass on the Bye Bye Redness cream. I think if redness is one of your top skin concerns, you definitely should check this line out, especially the powder!
