Mally Beauty Inspired Beauty QVC Today's Special Value Kit

Mally Beauty had a Today's Special Value kit QVC a little while ago and the value fore the kit was so good, I couldn't pass it up. I've been a Mally fan for quite a few years now and I always get excited when she releases new products. Read on for my thoughts and more.

The TSV price was quite low. Around $50. The kit is still available on QVC HERE at time of writing this blog post for just a little bit more, and still a good value.

Here is some info from QVC about the kit:
"Enhance your natural features and let your inner beauty shine through with Mally's Inspired Beauty Collection designed to help you be the best version of you. Look and feel beautiful all day long with flawless, natural-looking skin, long lashes, beautifully defined eyes, and a natural-looking lip.

Flawless Finish Transforming Effect Foundation has a transforming effect you have to see, and feel, to believe. It melts onto the skin the moment it's applied, giving you flawless, natural-looking coverage. Evercolor Shadow Stick Extra Velvet, Evercolor Gel Waterproof Liner, and Lift & Curl Mascara give eyes a beautifully defined look that takes you from day to night. For that radiant, allover glow, Effortlessly Airbrushed Highlighter delivers flattering radiance to every skin tone. Finally, feel inspired with Mally's Inspire Me Lipstick, for captivating color that leaves lips feeling soft and supple."

The only choice you had to make for this kit was your foundation shade. I went with shade LIGHT.

Flawless Finish Transforming Effect Foundation
As I mentioned, I selected shade light. This foundation was in a TSV last year (see that blog here) and I had fair which was very light on me, so I went up a shade. I actually found light to be quite light too. I never usually need anything darker than light in foundations, and even with Mally's other foundations, fair or light work perfectly. I think something may be a bit off with the shading so it was worth me noting. The light does work on me but if you are on the darker side of light, consider shading up. Looking back at my previous review of this foundation from last year, I still agree with what I said. It has medium to full coverage with a dewy finish. For my combination, shine prone skin, I have to set it with powder or Mally's Face Defender or it just looks too dewy on me. I think this foundation would work better for dry and more mature skin. The texture is unique, not a liquid and also not a cream. The biggest thing for me with this is I have to spend some extra time to really blend it into my skin to look seamless. I honestly like Mally's Complexion Perfection Foundation from the kit I reviewed a few months ago here a lot better.

Double-Ended Highlighter Brush
I saw people online complain about this brush because they said they rather have big brushes in TSVs. Personally, I like the fact we got a different shaped brush and this dual ended brush is quite nice! It is extremely versatile with usage. I like to use the bigger side for blush and the smaller side for concealer under my eyes. This is a nice addition to the kit.

Effortlessly Airbrushed Highlighter in Stardust
Mally's Effortlessly Airbrushed franchise is fantastic. I've been crazy about these formulas since they were in the previous square components with the quilted pattern on them. Side note- does anyone else miss Mally's old pink and green packaging?? Okay, anyway- I actually had this already from a prior Blush/Highlighter set. I'm not a huge highlighter person (blame my combo skin), but this is really pretty. It is a gold toned highlighter that is glowy with a bit of sparkles. I don't mind the sparkly aspect but I know some do. Aside from using on the cheeks, this also makes a lovely eyeshadow color that brightens up my whole face. A little bit goes far so this will last for years. I apologize in advance that I am terrible at getting highlighter to show up when I take pictures.

Evercolor Shadow Stick Extra Velvet in Timeless Taupe
I love Mally's shadow sticks! The extra velvet formula works well for me. I use it even without primer and it stays put on my eyelids all day. Timeless Taupe is a beautiful cool toned, greyish taupe that I find to be quite flattering. My favorite thing about Mally's shadow sticks are how easy they are to apply. I just scribble a little on my lids and blend out with my finger and I'm good to go!

Evercolor Gel Waterproof Liner in Hazelnut
I use gel liners like this on my upper waterline which is quite watery and sensitive. A lot of liners can irritate my eyes. This one glides on easily and my eyeballs have no negative reactions. Hazelnut is a pretty brown color which is a nice change of pace from my normal black. I'm pretty sure this color would look great on the lid too but I am terrible at lining my lids with pencils like this to be completely honest! I prefer felt tip liners for when I go for that look since they give me a thinner line. I never claimed to be a makeup artist. That being said, the way this glides on, the pigment that it gives off and the fact it stays all day without irritation gives it a thumbs up in my book.

Lift & Curl Mascara
This new mascara (and lippie below) is the reason I wound up buying this TSV. I LOVE Mally's Mascara formulas. Most of them, with the exception of one which I don't count since it's purpose was for lashes to look natural, which is not a look I go for (I like my lashes to look big and fake) have become favorites throughout my years of makeup wearing so this newbie had high expectations. It is not my most favorite mascara ever by Mally. That being said, it is still a pretty nice mascara! I generally like silicone molded, smaller and thinner spoolies for mascara application. It does have silicone mold but the brush itself is huge and curved. I can get my lashes to look really long, but the formula clumps a bit if I don't go in with a lash comb to comb it out as I'm applying. It took quite a while for me to get my lashes to look how I wanted them to. Once I did get them how I like, the super black pigmented formula did stay on all day without smudging or flaking, so that part great. I like this, but don't love it, and will stick with her More is More and Instant Impact mascaras instead which make my lashes look longer and thicker and I can apply more easily.

Inspire Me Lipstick in Darling
As mentioned, this was the other product I really wanted from this TSV. I like the formula, but not the color. On air, the color looked like a nice pinky-nude that I would go for. In person when I applied on my lips, it was more of a brown-nude with slight pink. I just do not like brownish shades in my lipsticks. Corrine (my best friend) loves those kind of colors so she is thrilled that this lippie is now hers once my review is done. This new lippie formula is quite lovely, though! I'd love to see it in more true pink shades. I love the component and the fact it is a bit thinner than a usual bullet, and it feels very moisturizing on my lips. It wasn't long wearing at all, but these kind of lipsticks make it so easy to reapply that that was not a big deal.

My hair is quite wet in the below pictures. I was going to take these on a better hair day, but I had quite a few requests on this blog post so wanted it get it up sooner rather than later. ;) Also, my brows need to see my threading lady ASAP, so I apologize for that, too.

I am wearing the full TSV. I did not set the foundation so you can see the finish. I did not wear additional concealer on my undereyes- that coverage is from the foundation alone! I do have primer on underneath, as this foundation doesn't wear long on me without primer. I also have on an eyebrow product not included in the TSV. I used the lipstick as a blush.

Overall, this kit was okay, but not my favorite from Mally. My "perfect kit" would include a true pink lippie, no highlighter and a different mascara. There are other Mally kits on QVC right now I love a lot more such as this one and this one.
