Sunday Riley Saturn Sulfur Acne Treatment Mask

Sunday Riley skincare is absolutely incredible. As time has been going on, I've been incorporating more and more of the line into my regimen and getting excellent results. Having combination, acne prone skin the "green line" with the UFO Oil and Martian Toner is a favorite franchise within the brand. When I saw they released a new mask as part of this line, I knew I had to try it. Read on for my thoughts.

Here is some info from Sephora.com about the mask:
"Saturn Sulfur Acne Treatment Mask contains maximum levels of sulfur to penetrate pores to dry and clear up existing acne while preventing new blemishes from forming. It treats multiple forms of acne, including blocked, congested pores, inflammatory acne, hormonal acne, and acne rosacea. Four percent niacinamide promotes clear skin, while boosting skin's healthy-looking radiance. Zinc PCA and bentonite clay help to clear impurities, reduce excess oil, and soothe the appearance of surface redness, without over-drying. Highly potent tea tree oil, standardized for high levels of terpinen-4-ol, partnered with manuka oil, purify the skin for a smooth and clear complexion after each use."

Scent wise, it smells fresh and I definitely smell the tea tree oil inside. It isn't a bad thing, tea tree oil just has quite a distinguished smell.

I was actually surprised at the texture when I first tried this out. Since it was an acne mask and also contains clay, I kind of automatically assumed it would be a hard-drying clay mask and it isn't. It feels more of a cream but once applied on the face it does dry down, just not to the point it starts to crackle and stuff. This is not a bad thing, it just caught me by surprised. I apply a thin layer and it dries in about 10 minutes which isn't bad drying time. The formula comes out of the tube green but once I spread it on my face it dries more white, as you can see below.

I've been using this mask twice a week now for about a month and really am enjoying the results. Most noticeably I think it helps de-clog my pores of black heads. A few unwanted visitors (aka pimples) also seemed to clear up faster than usual. It says you can apply this as a spot treatment as well. It also helps out with some redness I get on my cheeks.

Overall, this is one of the best facial masks I've used yet! I like that it fights all my acne related issues without feeling too drying on my skin. I will continue to use and plan on repurchasing as well.
