Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Oil for Skin and Hair!

I've been watching presentations of Elemis skincare on QVC for a while now and finally had a chance to try my first product! The Pro-Collagen Marine Oil is everything I could want in an oil blend for my skin and hair! Read on for more.

Here is some information about the product from the brand:
"Benefits: Moisturizes, Nourishes, Hydrates
This replenishing facial oil has been formulated with a trio of seaweeds - Padina Pavonica, Golden Seaweed and Roaring Water Kelp - to deliver maximum hydration, while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. White Poppy seed oil plumps the skin with moisture and leaves the complexion looking revitalized and radiant, achivieving an ageless glow fit for a mermaid.

  • Skin appears more youthful and radiant
  • Appearance of fine lines and wrinkles are visibly reduced
  • Helps to support the skin’s moisture barrier
  • The texture of skin looks revitalized and skin feels renewed"

Before getting into the formula, I have to tell you how obsessed I am with the bottle! As someone who absolutely adores the ocean, mermaids and all things of the sea, I just think the Ocean-esque ombre color and tear drop shape is absolutely gorgeous. No way I am tossing this bottle once the oil is all gone. It is just too pretty!! The bottle screams "Mermaid!"
I am a huge fan of oils in my beauty routine. I've been using them on years on my skin, nails and hair and constantly see and feel the benefits. Since I use a couple oils at night, I decided to incorporate this one into my morning regimen for my face. I applied it after, and sometimes just in place of my moisturizer and let it absorbed fully (I would usually brush my teeth and use body lotion while it absorbs) before applying any makeup on top. A little bit of this oil goes a long way. I only applied just two drops and it covered my face and neck! Since I applied in the morning, I didn't want to overdo it.

Scent wise, at first sniff I detected Geranium Essential Oil, which is super beneficial for the hair by making it appear shinier and face by helping to clear the skin. Checking the ingredients on the side of the package, sure enough there it was along with other awesome essential oils such as Lavender, Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Orange and Chamomile to name just a few. Interesting how the Geranium aroma was prominent over all of the other Essential Oils for me. I happen to enjoy the scent, I find it to be a bit uplifting.

I really like that this oil includes Seaweed and Kelp. Both are full of minerals and help hydrate and strengthen the skin and hair as well. Seaweed can even help restore and repair hair from heat and chemicals!

My skin is shine and acne prone. This oil is designed for wrinkles and to hydrate the skin. I'm so glad it did not break me out at all! If anything, I actually think it helped heal post acne marks a little faster than usual! I noticed my cheeks which sometimes can get uneven in tone appeared to even out a bit. It left my skin feeling so soft and ready for makeup (again, especially if you are combo or oily, you want to let the oil absorb completely before putting anything else on top)

I've been using this oil for over a month now. I can't say just yet that it made a difference in my fine lines, since I do use other skincare to address that as well and being in my early 30s, at this point my mindset is to use things to prevent the lines and "age gracefully" Also, I notice lines mostly around my eyes and with all the essential oils in here, I didn't want to bring it that close to my eyeballs.

I mentioned earlier I also like using this on my hair. Since the bottle is on the smaller size, I don't use this on wet hair because I would just need to use way too much. But I have on occasion used some when parts of my hair were looking extra dry and/or frizzy and it softened my hair up and added such lovely shine to it! If they ever supersize this oil (cough. hint. cough. cough.) I would so use it in my hair more, especially since it is silicone-free!
Overall, I'm quite impressed with the Pro-Collagen Marine Oil by Elemis and am hoping to keep it as part of my routine and want to look into what else the brand offers now!!!
