Hair of The Day 1 and 2: Extra Moisture HG Routine and Diffusing for Dry Weather

It's been a while since I did just a solo "Hair of the Days" post, so here we are. This is Day 1 and Day 2 hair I had the day before New Years Eve and New Years Eve, so technically this is the last "Hair of the Day" for 2017! Read on for more.

Day 1
Since I wanted my Day 2 hair to look really good, and also since the air has been so incredibly dry, I went in with my Holy Grail routine and sat under my hair steamer with the tea rinse and deep conditioner for about 40 minutes. I was thrilled with the outcome.

Here is what I used:
  • Overnight Pre-Poo: The Mane Choice Heavenly Halo
  • Cleanser: Curlsmith Curl Quenching Conditioning Wash
  • Tea Rinse: BelleBar Anti Shedding/Growth
  • Conditioner: DevaCurl Melt Into Moisture and Deep Sea Repair
  • Stylers (immediately after shower): DevaCurl Melt Into Moisture (as a leave in), B'Leave In, ArchAngel Gel, Mirror Curls
  • Heat Protectant: Briogeo Rosarco Blow Dry Perfection and Protectant Creme
  • After Diffusing: DevaCurl SuperCream

As mentioned earlier, the air has been so incredibly dry so that plus forced heat indoor means my hair truly needs all the moisture it can get! Speaking of, if you missed my Winter Hair Tips video, be sure to check that out!!
I've been using my overhead hair steamer from Huetiful for my deep treatments, but the Q-Redew would work well also. I've been using DevaCurl's Melt Into Moisture Treatment Mask as a leave in to combat this dryness. I styled my hair as usual with my favorite DevaCurl stylers after shower with my hair flipped upside down. I let it air dry three hours or so but then got really, really cold and decided to diffuse. I used the Briogeo heat protectant creme, which is my favorite, and diffused with the Dyson Supersonic Dryer. I recorded that process so hopefully a video all about the Dyson Dryer will be on my YouTube Channel soon. I then added in some DevaCurl Supercream for even extra moisture once my hair was completely dry.

Side note: So, my ring light broke and I had to mail it back to the manufacturer to get a refund. I'm just glad I got a warranty! Until I get a new ring light, I have to make due the best I can with other lights so I'm so sorry if parts of the pictures look shadowy! If you know of an inexpensive, but still good quality ring light, please let me know in the comments!

 Day 2
This was New Years Eve! I first sprayed Witch I Love Your Hair Magic Mist and then used a combination of DevaCurl SuperCream and B'Leave In.

These were taken before leaving the house:

These were taken later on, at my grandma's house (for those keeping up with that story- she's taking it day by day and every day is unpredictable) These were taken after being outside in the cold with a satin lined hat on:

January is 5 months since my last trim! Wow that went fast! My hair is letting me know it needs a trim again since I notice the ends acting more frizzy and a little unruly. I'll have to make an appointment soon. In case you missed it on Instagram, check out my growth progress over the last few New Years eves!!! I had three trims in 2017 to keep the ends healthy, too.
