Lots of Recent "Hair of the Days" and Curly Hair Chat

I've been so bad with Hair of the Day posts so I am going to make it up to you wonderful followers now since I have quite a few days worth to post and talk about! Since I keep a hair journal of what I use each day, it helps when sometimes I get delayed and don't blog about the hair day until a couple weeks later. Continue reading for more.

By the way, if you do ever miss my hair posts, be sure to follow me on instagram since I post a whole lot on there.

I've switched up a little with my routine. As far as favorite products and also how I style my hair after the shower. I went back to using my version of Ouidad's "Rake and Shake" technique applying products in small sections raking them in and scrunching before putting my hair up in my Aquis towel after the towel. I am finding by concentrating on the smaller sections instead of applying the styling products on my hair completely flipped over, my curls have been more defined and bouncy! I will make an updated video of what I do soon.

Also, since doing the 80 Day Obsession workouts, I'm pushing myself so hard and sweating a ton, I find myself washing three times a week sometimes instead of just two.

Wash Day: Briogeo and Raw Curls
This has been my go-to AT LEAST once a week! Briogeo and Raw Curls are two of my very favorite brands and they play so well together. I've been crazy about the new Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair Shampoo and Leave-In since I started using them in January.

Here is what I use:
  • Cleanser: Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair Super Moisturizing Shampoo
  • Conditioner: Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair Deep Conditioning Mask
  • Stylers: Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair Leave-In Mask, Raw Curls Conditioner, Anti-Frizz Spray, Firm Hold Gel, Briogeo Rosarco Oil

The health of my hair is getting better and it has been feeling so very soft since really sticking to the Briogeo and Raw Curls products. Since both lines are full of great, potent ingredients, a little goes a long way with almost everything! I say almost because I do find myself spraying Briogeo's DDR leave-in and Raw Curls Anti-Frizz Spray quite generously. But they do wonders. I do use two leave-ins- the Briogeo DDR AND Raw Curls Conditioner because to use the Briogeo alone I think I would need too much to weigh my hair down a little (i like a little weight to my leave ins to fight poof), PLUS the Raw Curls Conditioner also has great ingredients like Briogeo to let live in my hair until the next wash.

Raw Curls Firm Hold Gel is my new favorite gel! It's not super new, because I have used it in the past, but recently I rediscovered just HOW MUCH I LOVE it. Firm hold, no stiff or sticky feeling, hair is left defined, bouncy and shiny and the definition holds up for days.

In these pictures, my roots were still slightly wet.

 Day 1
This was another day where I did the same wash routine as up above. I just snapped two quick pictures right before bed. The shine and definition were wonderful.

Something else I've been doing lately on day 2 or 3 hair is once I style my hair, I put it in a super loose pineapple and let it hang out 10 minutes or so as seen before. I just put my hair in an invisibobble hair tie and didn't even tie it around once. The helps make my hair look a bit more full without being too puffy and also helps stretch out my hairline pieces which sometimes can still just turn wonky.

Day 2
This is day 2 after the wash day above with a lot of pics. This was the only picture I got on this Day 2 and it was after walking around Manhattan for a good 3 hours when it was cloudy and kind of rainy. I was impressed that though there was some frizz, it wasn't as bad as usual for that kind of weather.

I used Witch I Love Your Hair Mist with Up North Naturals 8 Oil Jelly on top.

Day 3
This was Day 3 of the above wash.
I used Briogeo Scalp Revival Dry Shampoo on my scalp post workout, followed by Raw Curls Anti-Frizz Spray as a refresher with Curls Cashmere and Caviar Gelle all over and then a little bit of The Mane Choice 4 Leaf Clover Freeze Gel just on my hairline pieces which still like to be frizzier and drier than the rest of my hair after a few days.
I also played around with more of a side part.

Another Day 2
This was after the quick snapshots of the Day 1 above.
I used Briogeo Scalp Revival Dry Shampoo post workout, then used Witch I Loved Your Hair Magic Mist and Curlsmith Styling Souffle.

 Another Day 3
This was another Day 3 from the wash prior. I posted this picture on instagram after snapping it quickly before washing up for bed time. I posted this to show by no means do I have perfect hair EVER, and I don't even have great hair every single day. Frizz happens. There were days upon days of nonstop rain. I had  some pure argan oil in my hair to treat it but my ends were still looking frizzy. Well, my instagram followers sure showed me. I got an INSANE amount of "likes" on this picture and tons of comments with people complimenting me!? (thank you if you were were of them) I totally was not expecting it! A lot of people in this picture seemed to really love the deeper side part, too. I'm trying to get more used to it but I am weird about things being even and stuff and a middle part just feels better to me. But I'm trying!!
These were from that same Day 3, a little bit earlier. My hair color looks different in every single room due to lighting. It's crazy. My curls stretched out since they were clipped back for a while, but I kind of liked it- made my hair look longer!!

One More Day 2

This is Day 2 Hair and I actually didn't take pictures of the wash day.
I used Briogeo Scalp Revival Dry Shampoo, Raw Curls Anti-Frizz Spray and Up North Naturals 8 Oil Jelly.

 A Random Wash Day
This was from a few weeks ago I don't think I ever posted.
This was using *almost* ALL Raw Curls: Cleanser, Conditioner, Anti-Frizz Spray, Firm Hold Gel and pure Argan Oil (I'm out of their shine serum)
