Pacifica Beauty Pineapple Curls Conditioner and Mask

I've been playing around with a lot of Pacifica Beauty products lately, so you can expect to see lots of mentioning of them in the future. Today I'm talking about two products I picked up from Target that I was eyeing forever and my local store finally had in stock: the silicone free Pineapple Hydrating Curl Nourishing Mask and Pineapple Curls Curl Defining Conditioner. Read on for more.

This line also has a shampoo, but since it takes me two years to use up a bottle of shampoo, I don't buy new shampoos all that often.

Pacifica Beauty is cruelty free, vegan, very eco-friendly (check out their recycling program!) , contains mostly natural ingredients and has some of the most gorgeous packaging I've ever seen!!! Look at this Conditioner and Mask! I've never seen such pretty hair care bottles. I want to keep them out on display.

I try to follow the Curly Girl Method as best as I can. A big part of this is I tend to avoid hair products with silicones, since silicones can build up on the hair and also prevent moisture from getting in. I was SO HAPPY to see that these products are silicone free! Additionally, they do not contain petroleum, parabens, SLS or phthalates.

Them: "Deep, breathable hydration to quench your dry curls without weighing down the bounce. Rice proteins, avocado, coconut and pineapple come together with super oils to enrich and nourish. Get frizz under control and let your natural beauty shine through like the sunny rainbow it is. Includes Pineapple, Hyaluronic Acid and Super Oils."

Me: This is a 6 fl oz mask. The good news is, I find it to be potent and I will be able to get multiple uses out of the tube. I say this because sometimes my dry, high porosity hair can drink up a lot of product and I can go through a 6 fl oz container quickly. Luckily, that is not the case with this. That being said, I need a backup of this mask ASAP because it is INCREDIBLE. The consistency is thick, but it spread through my freshly cleansed hair very nicely. I left it on a half hour before rinsing. As I rinsed, my hair actually felt thicker. I was not expecting that but it was great surprise. Before applying styling products, my wet hair just looked better. there was shine, minimal frizz and I saw curls forming already which doesn't always happen when my hair is soaked before scrunching and applying products. The scent is delicious, it smells like a cold, fruity smoothie. Yum! The directions on the back say you can also use it as an overnight treatment so I definitely will be trying that in the future.

Them: "Wind it up! Your curls are your gift, set them free and help preserve your natural curl with bounce and definition. Condition hair without weighing it down while reducing frizz. Infused with pineapple, super oils and hyaluronic acid. Let your natural beauty shine bright. Includes Pineapple, Hyaluronic Acid and Super Oils."

Me: If you read my blog regularly (thank you!) you may know I don't often use Conditioners as rinse outs since I only wash twice a week and my hair is so super dry and frizzy. I decided to use this conditioner as a leave-in conditioner. I checked with the folks at Pacifica and they said it was not specifically made to be a leave-in, but I could try if I wanted to. I tried and I really liked it! A little goes a long way, just like with the mask. The consistency is a medium weight lotion and has such nice slip to it. I applied it to my hair in small sections, raking the product through and then scrunching. I applied my additional stylers on top. This one smells more coconutty and like a Pina Coolada. I don't always love those kind of aromas, but this isn't bad.

Using the Pacifica Pineapple Curls Mask and Conditioner left my hair feeling incredibly soft, very shiny and frizz was at a minimum! My curls were bouncy and my hair just looked and felt so healthy. It wasn't a usual soft either, it was this crazy silky, softness I don't feel all that often lately, to be honest.

Here is everything I used for this wash:
  • Cleanser: Curlsmith Conditioning Wash
  • Conditioner: Pacifica Pineapple Hydrate Curl Nourishing Mask
  • Stylers: Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair Leave In (I use some sprays every single wash), Pacifica Pineapple Curls Curl Defining Conditioner (as a leave in), Raw Curls Firm Hold Gel, Pure Argan Oil

I applied the styling products in smaller sections raking each product through and then scrunching at the end. I wrapped my hair up in my Raw Curls Towel while doing my skincare. Once taken down, I scrunched some more and fully air dried.

Video Review:

Overall, I'm impressed with these new silicone free hair products by Pacifica Beauty. I hope the brand expands their Pineapple Curls collection with silicone free stylers (an oil blend and firm hold gel would be fab.) You can find these products at Target or on Pacifica's website (save 10% through that link)!
