Rahua Classic Shampoo and Conditioner

Why have I not heard of the brand Rahua until recently!? I received the Classic Shampoo and Conditioner from the line in the most recent Allure Beauty box and well, they blew my mind at first use. The way I hair felt. The way my hair looked. The incredible ingredients inside. Read on for more.

So usually when I get shampoos and conditioners in subscription boxes, they are super tiny and/or full of ingredients I don't want to use so I pass them on. Not these. Rahua is a fantastic brand with sustainably sourced ingredients from the Amazon Rain Forest.

Check out more information about the brand I got from the "About Us" section of their website:

"All Rahua® products are vegan, organic, sulfate-free, paraben-free, gluten-free, cruelty-free and support indigenous economies. Amazon Beauty® is dedicated to the preservation of the Amazon rainforest and the indigenous people that live there. In the process of bringing the Amazon’s greatest products to you, Amazon Beauty® Inc. has committed itself to building sustainable communities and creating learning centers within the Amazon rainforest."

I encourage you to go read the whole About Us section to learn more about the brand. Oh, and on top of being vegan, organic, sulfate-free, paraben-fRee, gluten-free and cruelty-free, they also are SILICONE FREE!!! YAY!!!!! All of the products also preserve and restore the hair with organic, nourishing superfoods.

The scent of both the shampoo and conditioner were quite similar. Very herbally and earthy, but not overpowering or offensive. I also did not find that the scent lingered at all. Both products really smelled quite natural.

Me: I can't believe this shampoo! Truth be told, it takes A LOT for a shampoo to wow me. They usually clean, either leave my hair feeling okay or too stiff and then I move on the conditioner. But this shampoo. Wow.  It's so good. It did produce a light lather, which I like. I found getting the lather to suds up between my fingers and then applying it to my scalp and massaging versus putting the actually shampoo on my scalp made it easier to distribute. After massaging it in with my scalp massager, I rinsed thoroughly. As I rinsed, my hair not only felt clean but not overly dry, it also felt silky, bouncy and so light! When I got out of the shower and gently squeezed out excess water before applying conditioner, my hair looked shiny and healthy overall. I still felt I needed to follow up with a conditioner, but 99.9% of the time with everything I do need to, so that is no surprise and no big deal. This is a shampoo and not a co-wash, so I wouldn't expect it alone to be enough to moisturize my super dry, frizzy, high porosity hair. I just can't quite put into words that magic that happened when I rinsed after this shampoo. Amazing.

Me: The 22 ml shampoo included in my Allure Box is enough for me to get several uses out of. But 22 ml conditioner? LOL. My fellow curly girls know, we need lots of conditioner and 22 ml is simply not going to cut it. I will say however, this conditioner is really rich and potent, and it did spread further than I originally expected it to. That being said, after applying it in small sections, concentrating on my front and end pieces that are most dry and frizzy, I went back with my Raw Curls Conditioner to make sure my hair got the moisture and conditioner it needs. I decided to pair the Rahua Classic Conditioner with Raw Curls since both brands are similar in the sense that are so clean, pure and don't contain and junk ingredients inside. Plus, I'm so familiar with Raw Curls so I can pinpoint what the Rahua Conditioner did.

My hair drank the conditioner up. It make detangling really easy as well.  I left the conditioner mix on my hair about a half hour before rinsing. Once rinsed, my hair still had that really nice, light feeling. i wish I had more of the conditioner to play with to try it soley by itself, also as a leave-in and to use on dry hair because the brand's site said you can also use it as a styling cream. Usually my hair likes masks and not regular rinse out conditioners due to the dryness. I actually found this conditioner to be rich enough to work for me in place of a mask! That's fantastic!  The softness I felt after using the shampoo was amplified even more once I rinsed the conditioner out.

To keep with the organic, clean ingredients, healthy hair products, I used the following for styling:
  • Be Kekoa Be Hydrated Leave-In, Raw Curls Anti-Frizz Spray, Firm Hold Gel, Pure Argan Oil.

I styled the same way as usual lately, "rake and shake" then scrunching at the ends and then had my hair up in my Raw Curls towel while doing my skincare. I then air dried and sat outside to help speed it up since it was sunny and almost 90 degrees today (finally)!

I'm really happy with how my hair came out today! I have good definition, absolute minimal frizz, nice shine and my hair feels so very light. I think it just looks healthier in general.

Video Review:

Overall, the Rahua Classic Shampoo and Conditioner were the most awesome shampoo and conditioner I ever received in a beauty subscription box. I have this brand on my radar now and already made a wishlist of other products by them I really want to try, including the full size of this conditioner!
