Tatcha The Silk Canvas and The Pearl

TATCHA is an incredible skincare line developed with the rituals and ingredients of  the beautiful Japanese Geisha's in mind. Today I am talking about two newer products in their line: The Silk Canvas Primer and The Pearl Under Eye Treatment! Read on for more.

The Silk Canvas

Them: "Velvety priming balm of pressed silk smooths and makes makeup last longer while keeping it out of skin, helping to prevent clogged pores and breakouts.

This multi-tasking skin-protecting, makeup-perfecting primer for face, eyes and lips.

  • Blurs: Silk extracts feel nourishing on skin and instantly diminish the look of pores, fines lines and imperfections for the perfect canvas before makeup.
  • Primes: Silk powder makes makeup glide on more evenly and last longer, minimizing excess shine with a soft focus finish.
  • Protects: Protective barrier derived from botanicals acts as a barrier between makeup and skin, helping to prevent clogged pores that can lead to breakouts. Anti-pollution natural active ingredients fight immediate attack from environmental stressors and help support the skin's barrier function to act against future attack, visibly reducing the appearance of wrinkles and dullness.
  • Enhances: Pink and gold pearl helps even skin tone for a healthy look.
  • Anti-aging: Hadasei-3™, a trinity of Japanese superfoods, green tea, rice and algae, visibly restores youthful radiance."

Me: I really love The Silk Canvas! As an eye shadow primer, it keeps my shadows on and vibrant all day long without creasing until I wash my face at night. It is honestly one of the best eye shadow primers I've EVER used. Additionally, I love it on my complexion as well. I wore it daily for a few weeks before reviewing to make sure it did not cause my sensitive acne prone skin to break out and luckily, it did not! As a primer for additional makeup, it helps foundation, concealer, powders, etc go on effortlessly and look airbrushed. I also felt it helped extend the life of my complexion makeup for a few extra hours, even in humidity which is awesome. Lately to be honest, I haven't been wearing full faces of make up so I just apply my favorite sunscreen by Emme Diane and wear The Silk Canvas and the Pearl (see below) on top and I'm good to go! Even without makeup on top, it blurs any inperfections or larger pores I may have and makes me feel better about going makeup free. When I use it alone, or as a primer it helps cut down shine on my shine prone skin which makes me so happy. A little bit goes so far with this. Seriously, less is more. I can't rave enough about this.

The Pearl Eye Treatment

Them: "A tinted treatment that awakens eyes with a pearl-like luster, hydrates and reduces the look of dark circles and wrinkles — instantly and over time.

This 2-in-1 makeup and treatment formula breaks upon application to deliver both refreshing moisture and natural coverage for a healthy, well-rested look all day.

  • Awakens: Light-refracting pearl pigments work with Akoya Pearl extract in an active skincare treatment formula to restore radiance by helping to address the 3 causes of under eye darkness thinning skin, blue undertones and pigmentation. The Pearl works to address dark circles and fine lines and wrinkles by supporting natural collagen production and inhibiting hyperpigmentation, boosted by niacinamide, known to visibly brighten and firm.
  • Smooths and Protects: Silk powder smooths the look of fine lines and imperfections, while a blend of botanical extracts protects from makeup and pollution that can cause signs of aging.
  • Anti-Aging Hydration: Lightweight cream powered by Hadasei-3™, a proprietary trio of Japanese anti-aging superfoods, and hyaluronic acid nourishes and hydrates for a plump, refreshed appearance."

Me: This treatment comes in three total shades. I have "Moonlight" which is the lightest shade made for fair to medium skin. To be honest, I didn't love this one at first use but once I watched a video on how to use it correctly (see that here) everything changed! I have SUPER dark circles, one of the biggest things I complain about on my face. This eye treatment is super moisturizing which is great since it helps to plump up the pesky fine lines that have appeared the last couple of years. It does leave my under eye area looking brighter, but I still feel even more comfortable with concealer on top. This is not a super full coverage concealer, but it does not claim to be so that is okay. I apply this the way they suggest making 3 small dots under each eye, gliding back and forth and then GENTLY tapping the product into my skin. I like to additional do this again with another layer. I also learned to apply this when my face is dry and all other skincare has been absorbed.

no makeup or any tinted anything at all on
