Favorite Curly Hair Tools and Accessories Plus a Good Wash Day

A few people have asked me about my favorite curly hair tools and accessories. I have quite a few of them I simply can't be without for everything from sleeping, to working out to helping dry my hair. I also had another great wash day I included in here. Read on for more.

Here is the video talking about my favorite Curly Hair Tools and Accessories!

These pictures are from last Friday's wash day. The weather was beautiful, but since it was MDW, I didn't want to go near a beach due to crowds. My husband and I went to a local park instead and enjoyed our time outside with nature.

My roots were actually still slightly wet in these pictures. They took extra long to dry that day. I blame the humidity. I also think I may have been a bit too heavy handed with my styling products, but I made up for it with the minimal, minimal, minimal frizz.

Here is what I used:
  • Pre-Poo: Prose Custom Pre-Shampoo Mask
  • Cleanser: Prose Custom Shampoo
  • Masque: Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair Masque
  • Stylers: Prose Custom Condition (as a leave in), DevaCurl B'Leave In, Jessicurl Spiralicious, Briogeo Farewell Frizz Oil

I used my Thermalcare Hot Head to add heat to the Briogeo mask for deeper penetration.
I applied styling products in small sections, smoothing them through and then scrunching. I used my Aquis Hare Towel to remove excess water and then went in with more gel and Prose Custom Hair Oil.

This was my second time using the Jessicurl Spiralicious Gel in my mix recently. Once again, I was quite pleased how well it performed with DevaCurl B'Leave In.

I know I've been using the same products so much lately. Here's the thing: I was a product junkie for so many years. Well technically, every so often I do still enjoy playing with newness. But I've found products and brands I really like and work well with my hair. I just feel happier using what works for me. Plus I feel the more consistent I am with some products, say for example, the Prose Custom Shampoo and Conditioner, the better and better my hair is getting

These pictures were all taken outside with no flash using the iPhone X. Some of them were taken in Portrait mode. It's crazy how my hair color can look different based on different parts of the park and if the sun is out or behind a cloud.

My outfit was so comfy casual. The pants are called "Aden" by Lilly Pultizer. They're a few years old now. It is a really lightweight and soft material perfect for this time of year when it is a few degrees cooler than short weather but you don't want heavy pants on. The Lilly Pulitzer top is newer. The Mari Top is is a nice deeper jewel neckline and short sleeves. Perfect for every day. This print is called "Scuba Doo," which very well may be my favorite print name of all time. LOL! I had on flip flops but I love bare feet in nature. I just make sure not to step in dog poop and wash my feet the second I get home. The necklace is from TJMaxx from a few years ago.
