Vera Bella Skin Care Review

For over a month now, I have been incorporating some products by Verabella Skincare into my morning and night regimen. This cruelty free, vegan, non-toxic, non-nano, paraben and gluten free brand has truly impressed me. Read on for more information, my thoughts and before and after.

Some info from the brand's website about them:
"We make everything in small batches in LA. The finest organic botanicals are carefully selected for potency and gentleness. By combining the power of nature’s bounty with our deep experience in esthetics, the entire VERABELLA line is designed to nourish and pamper your skin—so you’ll always look and feel your very best.

Fresh organic botanical ingredients from local California farmers. Fresh fruit, flowers, and plant extracts. We’re inspired by the power of plants and technology and driven by a unwavering commitment to deliver fresh, scentsational, and effective skin care. Most of all, VERABELLA proves that quality skin care does not have to cost a fortune."

My skin type is combination, very acne and shine prone and I am also concerned about light pigmentation that has appeared recently (from being a bad teenager in tanning beds! ugh) and also some fine lines that are popping up as I get older.

Disclaimer: I've used all the products mentioned, but also use other products as well that I didn't have from Verabella including eye cream, face lotion, vitamin C serum, etc)

Them: "Refreshingly scented, invigorating foaming action and natural acids gently exfoliate dead skin cells, unclog oily pores and prevent blackheads form forming, bringing skin to dewy perfection."

Key Ingredients: Glycolic Acid, Grapefruit Oil, Jojoba, Lactic Acid, Salicylic Acid,

Me: This is the best smelling facial cleanser I ever came across! It smells like fresh grapefruit! I use this in the morning and as my second cleanser for double cleansing. It does such a nice job at leaving my skin feeling clean without feeling stripped or tight. I like the exfoliaton beads, they leave my skin so soft. I believe my pores look less congested thanks to this!

Them: "This powerful brew improves the feel and appearance of problematic skin. The soothing infusion of cold-pressed herbal extracts clarifies, conditions, and revives to leave skin impeccably refreshed and toned."

Key Ingredients: Coltsfoot,  Horsetail, Sage, Rosemary, Chamomile, Witch Hazel, Willowbark, Aloe Vera

Me: I've been using this morning and night as my toner. It has a light, herbal smell. I think it helps a bit with some redness on my cheeks. My face just feels so nice after applying. A little goes a long way with this tonic.

Them: "This medicine cabinet must-have is a soothing after-shave, clarifying mask, and protective shield. The light gel is a cornucopia of comforting, calming herbs—great for addressing blemish-related redness and irritation."

Key Ingredients: Aloe Vera, Witch Hazel, Tea Tree Oil, Calendula,

Me: I use this as my morning moisturizer, under SPF of course. It smells like tea tree oil- not my favorite scent but tea tree has such incredible benefits and it doesn't linger, so no worries there. The gel absorbs into my face quickly and the weight of this has been perfect for this time of year, hot and warm- it isn't heavy at all. This also plays very well under makeup applied on top.

Them: "This clarifying evening serum reduces redness and forms a protective barrier against acne-causing bacteria. The conditioning gel diminishes the appearance of scarring and discoloration so you wake to a smoother, balanced, more radiant reflection."

Key Ingredients: Aloe Vera, Cucumber, Green Tea, Vitamin E, Squalene

Me: Aside from the key ingredients, I also want to call out that this stuff contains Sodium Hyaluronate, a powerful form of Hyaluronic Acid,  and Retinyl Palmitate, a form of Retinol/Vitamin A. I use this at night only, in place of both my retinol and AHA/BHA serum. I REALLY like this stuff! I apply this right after cleansing, before even using the tonic. I think along with the tonic, this really helps with redness in my cheeks, and also the evenness and tone of my skin! I believe it also helps acne marks fade a bit quicker. I actually added this in a few days later than the rest of the line and saw results with it rather quickly. This serum is powerful, exfoliating but also balanced and somehow moisturizing.

Them: "Our best-selling answer to sun protection combines broad-spectrum SPF (45+) with the sensational lingering scent of cucumber! High-performance and quick-absorbing, this moisturizer nourishes skin as well as it protects."

Key Ingredients: Micronized Zinc, Aloe Vera, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Vitamin C, Chamomile, Hyaluronic Acid, Squalene

Me: This is a nice, moisturizing SPF that does not feel too heavy, greasy or goopy. It smells like a spa. I like that on top of protecting the skin, it also helps t repair and hydrate.

Them: "Our powerful zit-zapping potion fights blemishes by combining a synergy of the four most potent acne fighters available without a prescription to kill bacteria and reduce inflammation—a superb treatment, day or night, even over make-up."

Key Ingredients: Camphor, Salicylic Acid, Tea Tree Oil, Witch Hazel

Me: A fantastic spot treatment with such a great name. When pimples pop up, I use this day and night and the few that did decide to emerge since starting using products from this line have not lasted too long as a result.

Them: "Stimulate the skin and the senses with this rejuvenating blend of richly nourishing oils and beautifully scented Damask rose—a luxurious experience that conditions, tones and promotes firmness for incredibly soft, glowing, Verabella skin."

Key Ingredients: Soybean Oil, Evening Primrose, Avocado Oil, Rose, Panthenol(Vitamin B5)

Me: THIS BODY LOTION IS AMAZING. I love rose scented products, when they are done right and this one is so, so right. It smells like fresh roses and calms me. Possibly even better than the scent is how silky, radiant and glowy it leaves me skin! The tone of my body skin looks better!! A little goes a long way with the lotion too, which is great so my bottle will last.

Day 1 vs Day 30+

My skin wasn't in bad shape to start off with, but I still definitely see improvement. Mostly in the color and texture of my cheeks!

Overall, I'm quite pleased by Vera Bella and will continue to use these products in my skincare regimen.
